My boys have loved camping since they were small. We would get together with other families and stow our camping tents and other camping equipment, plus lots of food and be on our way to a new adventure. Our camping trips were never too far away from home, the most maybe three hours away. After several summer camping trips, all of us were pretty fast on putting up our camping tents as soon as we all got to our site. Our one good friend had a huge family tent and that is where the older kids would play games, and sleep. They all loved having the extra roomy two-room camping tent. It did take them awhile to settle down and fall asleep in that big tent. Even when my family didn’t go to a camping site, the kids used to set up our camping tent in our big backyard and camp out there for a night or two. I miss those family camping trips. Now, my kids do go camping on their own with friends and still love the outdoors.
